History, culture, and European civilization in the current context

EUROPE - CHALLENGES AND RESPONSES

Symposium

"History, Culture, and European Civilization in the Current Context. Europe - Challenges and Responses" aims to present a multi and interdisciplinary analysis of interpretations and research regarding the past, present, and future of Europe, with a focus on the constructive endeavors of memory, values, and the identity of nations and peoples, through the lens of individual and universal values, based on the principles of democracy and the rule of law.

Topics

"We currently live in an era of uncertainty, and Europe finds itself at a turning point in its history. The challenges we face today differ from those in the past and require different responses, both at the internal agenda level and in the external dimension of the European Union. The themes of the symposium 'History, Culture, and European Civilization in the Current Context: Europe - Challenges and Responses' aim to identify possible answers and reflections, taking into account the current domestic and international context of global geopolitics. This includes analyses of the state and quality of European democracies, the identification of internal risks and external threats, as well as the development of viable scenarios for the future of the European Union, considering related social, economic, political, and cultural factors and phenomena."

Location

The impressive "King Ferdinand the Unifier" Hall of the Administrative Palace in Arad, in the neorenaissance, baroque, neoclassical, and rococo styles, provides the ideal setting for presentation and debate, for researching the past, for understanding the present, and for envisioning the future.
